Area Boys Basketball: W-DC strikes down Pirates

WADENA--Noah Ross and Dacotah Mittag each contributed 17 points for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines in a 64-57 Park Region Conference win over the Verndale Pirates Thursday.

The Wolverines connected on 12-of-18 3-pointers (66 percent) with Ross drilling 4-5 and Mittag 3-4.

W-DC's Bereket Loer and Ryan Anderson each added 11 points and Mittag grabbed 13 rebounds.

Mac Schluttner tallied 14 points for Verndale, which suffered its first conference loss.

Taylor Willis, Luke Weniger and Nathan Sabinash each added 11 points for the Pirates.
