WADENA-Wadena-Deer Creek's Max Phillips registered a goal and an assist for the No. 8 Wolverines as they fell 6-3 to the No. 9 Breckenridge/Wahpeton Blades in the Section 6-1A opening round Saturday, Feb. 16.
Also scoring for the Wolverines were Tyler Reese and Justin Dykhoff. Recording assists were Phillips, Daunte Leiran and Logan Robinson.
Wolverine goalie Josh Dykhoff tallied 16 saves.
W-DC swept the regular-season series with Breckenridge beating them 6-3 Nov. 27, and 5-2 Jan. 28.
