Area Boys Hockey: Donovan, Lightning double up Storm

BREEZY POINT — Shane Donovan notched a hat trick for the Northern Lakes Lightning who wrapped up their regular season with a 6-3 win over the Sauk Rapids Storm in a section 5-1A matchup Friday, Feb. 14.

Northern Lakes punched in three goals by Donovan, Josef Slepica and Caiden Kjelstrom in the final two minutes of the first period for a 3-0 lead.

After the Storm made it 3-2 in the second, Donovan completed his hat trick in the third and Hunter Nybakken finished the scoring for Northern Lakes.

Goalie Adler Hoagland made 50 saves for the Lightning who were outshot 53-40.
