Area Boys Hockey: Donovan, Lightning light up Stars

LONG PRAIRIE — Shanve Donovan tallied three goals and an assist for the Northern Lakes Lightning as they took down the Prairie Centre North Stars 7-3 Tuesday, Jan. 21 in a Mid-State Conference game.

Kyler Couture added two goals and an assist for the Lightning.

Northern Lakes previously defeated Prairie Centre 11-2 on Nov. 26.

Cathedral 7, Little Falls 3

LITTLE FALLS — Little Falls goalie Dane Couture recorded 37 saves on 44 shots for Class 1A’s 10th-ranked Flyers as they fell 7-3 to Class 1A’s top-ranked St. Cloud Cathedral in a Section 6-1A matchup Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Scoring for the Flyers were Gabe Hirsch, Matt Filippi and Robby Kuchinski-Helgeson to hand the Flyers a 3-1 edge late into the second period.

Cathedral is now 13-1-1 overall 4-0 in section, with four straight wins. Little Falls falls to 14-4-1 overall
