Area Boys Hockey: Flyers double-up Fergus Falls

LITTLE FALLS-Josh Jennings and Devon Young each scored two goals for the Little Falls Flyers in a 6-3 non-conference win over the Fergus Falls Otters Saturday, Jan. 19.

Both of Young's goals and one of Jennings came on power plays as the Flyers converted on three of six power-play opportunities.

Matt Filippi and Nicholas Stevens accounted for the other two Flyer scores.

Little Falls outshot the Otters 31-22 with goalie Dane Couture recording 19 saves.

Crookston 7, Northern Lakes 1

CROOKSTON-Hunter Nybakken netted the only goal for the Northern Lakes Lightning in a 7-1 non-conference loss to the Crookston Pirates Saturday, Jan 19.

Shane Donovan assisted on Nybakken's goal which came at 10:53 of the third period and the Lightning trailing 5-0.

Crookston outshot the Lightning 39-19. Northern Lakes goalie Sam LeMieur stopped 22 of 28 shots before he was replaced with 5:44 left to play by Jeremiah Smyth who rejected 10 of 11 shots.
