Area Boys Hockey: Lightning blow out Prairie Centre

Northern Lakes and Little Falls took to the rinks tonight.

LONG PRAIRIE — Tyler Seeling notched a hat trick and Isaac Peterson added two goals for the Northern Lakes Lightning who defeated the Prairie Centre North Stars 10-2 in a Mid-State Conference matchup Thursday, Feb. 4.

Adding lone goals for Northern Lakes were Quady Bernu, Colton Craig, Hunter Nybakken, Carter Holtzleicer and Darby Boelter.

Jerimiah Smythe made 22 stops in net for the Lightning who are 4-0 in the conference and 6-1 overall.

Conference: NL 4-0. Overall: NL 6-1. Next: Northern Lakes hosts Detroit Lakes 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Breezy Point.

Gentry Academy 8, Little Falls 1

LITTLE FALLS — Hayden Johnson scored the only Little Falls goal as the Class 1A’s fourth-ranked Flyers fell 8-1 to the Class 1A’s second-ranked Gentry Academy Stars.

Robby Helgeson and Gunnar Gustafson each picked up an assist on Johnson’s goal.
