MONTICELLO-Shane Donovan and Hunter Nybakken provided the offense for the No. 8 Northern Lakes Lightning in a 5-2 loss to No. 1 seeded Monticello Magic in the Section 5-1A quarterfinals Thursday, Feb. 21.
Trailing 2-0 in the second period, Donovan's goal came at the 15:50 mark on an assist from Dylan Mesenbrink.
In the third period, the Lightning pulled to 3-2 with Nybakken scoring on an assist from Kyler Couture at 5:30 of the period.
Sam LeMieur kicked away 42 of the 47 shots he faced.
Northern Lakes finishes the season with an overall record of 8-15-2.
