Area Boys Hockey: Lightning outshine Park Rapids


PARK RAPIDS — Shane Donovan recorded three goals and three assists for the Northern Lakes Lightning as they crushed the Park Rapids Panthers 10-3 Thursday, Jan. 16.

Hunter Nybakken added a goal and five assists for the Lightning in the Mid-State Conference game.

Adler Hoagland collected 22 saves as Northern Lakes peppered Park Rapids with 53 shots compared to 25 from the Panthers.

LITTLE FALLS — Ryan Buckallew netted a pair of goals for the Little Falls Flyers who defeated the Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato Dragons 6-3 in non-conference action Thursday, Jan. 16.

Reece Hubbard, Nolan Bjorge, George Moore and Nicholas Stevens also scored for the Flyers. Gabe Hirsch collected four assists.

Both teams put 35 shots on goal with Flyer goalie Dane Couture making 32 saves.
