Area Boys Hockey: Stangel, Lightning blank PC - Maucieri scores 4 goals

LONG PRAIRIE--Matt Stangel was perfect in net and Josh Maucieri collected four goals for the Northern Lakes Lightning in an 8-0 Mid-State Conference win over the Prairie Centre Stars Tuesday.

Stangel rejected all 17 shots he faced. Max Tangen added a pair of goals and Drew Elfering and Garrett Westlund each scored once.

Northern Lakes recorded its 12th straight win and leads the Mid-State with a 6-0 record and is 14-1-1 overall.

LITTLE FALLS-Adam Josephson notched a hat trick for the Little Falls Flyers in a 4-1 non-conference win over the Princeton Tigers Tuesday.

The Flyers' Ben Sowada tied the score midway through the second after Princeton grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first period.

Josephson tallied the next three goals, the final into an empty net with six seconds left.

Little Falls goalie Justin Pekula rejected 11 of the 12 shots he faced.
