RED LAKE FALLS-Max Phillips punched in the winning goal in overtime for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines, who defeated the Red Lake Falls Eagles Saturday, Dec. 15 in a non-conference match.
Phillips scored the first goal for WDC as well, late in the second period, that kept the Wolverines in striking distance of the Eagles, who led 2-1 heading into the final regulation period.
In the third period, Justin Dykhoff netted two goals putting WDC up 3-2 before Fred Landman scored with two seconds left in regulation to force the overtime.
Goalie Josh Dykhoff stopped 40 shots for the Wolverines who were outshot 43-28.

MOUND-Matt Filippi and Josh Jennings scored the only goals for the Little Falls Flyers in a 4-2 non-conference loss to the Mound Westonka/Watertown-Mayer White Hawks Saturday, Dec. 15.
Little Falls was outshot 32-27 with Flyer goalie Dane Couture blocking 28 shots.
