Area Boys Soccer: Lake Region off to undefeated start to tourney

Lake Region hosts the first two rounds of the Paul Bunyan Tournament.

BAXTER — Trey Ogren scored five goals in the first game of the Paul Bunyan Tournament to help lead Lake Region Christian School to a 7-5 victory against Woodcrest Friday, Sept. 17.

Joseph Bostrom and Soren Benson both added a goal and two assists for the Hornets while Josiah McGaffey tallied 12 saves.

Ogren and Bostrom both scored two goals for Lake Region in the second game of the tournament as they defeated Granite City 9-1.

Benson added a goal and three assists while Logan Backstrom, Myles Peterson, Simon Wagner and Brody Kovatovich each tallied goals for the Hornets, who moved to 4-1 on the season.
