Area Boys Soccer: Lake Region splits in tournament

ST. FRANCIS — Jake Borders and Phil Imdieke each netted a pair of goals for the Lake Region Christian Hornets who won their fourth straight game of the season, 6-1 over Woodcrest Friday, Sept. 11, in the opening game of the St. Francis Tournament.

Soren Benson and Trey Ogren each scored once.

Benson assisted on three goals while Ogren was credited with two assists and Borders one.

Goalkeeper Josiah McGaffey collected seven saves.

In their second game of the tournament, the Hornets were handed their first loss when they were shutout 3-0 by Fourth Baptist.

McGaffey stopped five shots.
