Area Boys Soccer: Lake Region strikes twice

BAXTER — Jake Borders recorded two goals and an assist in Game One and Trey Ogren scored twice in Game Two as the Lake Region Christian Hornets captured two wins Friday, Sept. 25 during the Paul Bunyan Tournament.

The Hornets topped Woodcrest 4-2 in the opening round. Soren Benson scored as did Phil Imdieke. Benson added three assists and Josiah McGaffey collected eight saves.

In game two, Joseph Bostrom recorded two assists, and McGaffey three saves. Benson put up a goal and an assist and Borders a goal.

Cathedral 3, Little Falls 0

ST. CLOUD — St. Cloud Cathedral scored three goals on three shots in the first 5:56 of a Granite Ridge Conference contest with Little Falls Friday, Sept. 25, and that’s how the game ended.

The victory pushes the conference-leading Crusaders to 7-0 and drops Little Falls, which is sitting second in the conference, to 4-3.

Ben Rekstad finished with eight saves for the Flyers.
