DULUTH-David Curtiss and Nathan Hagestuen won both their doubles matches in straight sets Tuesday to advance to the semifinal round in Section 7-1A individual tournament.
Curtiss-Hagestuen topped a Cloquet team 6-3, 6-2 and then defeated a team from Hermantown 7-5, 6-2. The pair improved its record to 15-2 on the season.
James Much won his opening-round singles match 6-3, 76 over Hermantown's Kevin Bauman before being eliminated by Duluth Marshall's Ethan Evjen.
Aitkin's Joel Fremling and the doubles team of Jaren Johnson-Tucker Schwartz lost their first-round match.
