Area Football: Pierz roars into section championship game

PIERZ - Noah Boser and Jonny Kasper each ran for a pair of touchdowns in the top-seeded Pierz Pioneers' 42-6 win over No. 4-seeded Foley in a Section 5-3A semifinal game Tuesday night.

PIERZ - Noah Boser and Jonny Kasper each ran for a pair of touchdowns in the top-seeded Pierz Pioneers' 42-6 win over No. 4-seeded Foley in a Section 5-3A semifinal game Tuesday night.

Michael Meyer hauled in a 32-yard pass from Aaron Weber for another score and senior captain and defensive end Teddy Behler wrapped up Pierz's scoring in the third quarter with an interception for his first career touchdown.

Lane Girtz rushed for 112 yards and Preston Rocheleau was 6-for-6 on extra-point kicks.

The 9-0 Pioneers are Class 3A's top-ranked team and will face No. 3 Annandale in the Section 5-2A finals at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Cloud State University.
