PILLAGER - Seven turnovers and eight penalties hampered the chances of the Pillager Huskies to prevail over Lake Park-Audubon Friday.
The Huskies still had a chance until a 61-yard interception return by LP-A late in the fourth quarter sealed the 12-6 Pillager loss.
Beau Van Vickle scored PIllager's lone touchdown on a 6-yard run. The senior running back finished with 45 yards on 17 rushes. Chris Ramsey added 28 yards on three carries.
"We can't turn the ball over that many times and have that many penalties," said Pillager head coach Lowell Scearcy. "It just makes things tough on yourself. We need to clean up that part of the game, which is the mental part. Hopefully we can do that by next Friday."
Ryder Hunstad threw for 105 yards on 9-of-16 passing. Brian Mason caught three of those for 55 yards.
