STAPLES - The Staples-Motley Cardinals made a valiant effort but were unable to snap a 32-game losing streak, falling 56-42 to Class 2A's 10th-ranked Frazee Hornets in a Heart-O-Lakes-Classic Conference game Friday.
The Cardinals losing streak has spanned parts of five seasons and their last victory came Oct. 15, 2010 against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.
