HANCOCK - Colter Ehrmantraut ran for two touchdowns and scored a third on a punt return to lead the Verndale Pirates to a 45-6 win over the Hancock Owls in their season opener Thursday night.
Fourth-year starter Dillon Card threw scoring strikes of 48 and 26 yards to Mitchell Blaha. Marshall Willis and James Kveton also ran for touchdowns.
Ehrmantraut finished with 144 yards on 12 carries, while Card finished 3-6 for 79 yards - all to Blaha.
