PILLAGER - Amber Robben scored a game-high 17 points and the Staples-Motley Cardinals limited Pillager to just eight points in the second half in a 61-23 non-conference win over the Huskies Thursday night.

Kelsey Weite grabbed eight rebounds for the Cardinals, who are ranked eighth in Class 2A and have won six of their last seven games.

PINE RIVER - Megan Felthous filled the stat sheet with 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Pine River-Backus Tigers caged the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves 52-37 in a Northwoods Conference game Thursday.

Shelby Adkins drained five threes and finished with 17 points and added six steals for the Tigers, who have won five of their last six games and lead the Northwoods Conference with an 11-0 mark.

Megan Porta contributed 10 points and Elizabeth Downie snared six rebounds for PR-B.

"We created 22 turnovers," PR-B coach Randy Schwegel said. "That's probably our best defensive effort in years, maybe one of the best I've seen from our girls in a long, long time."
