Area Girls Basketball: Moe, Gobblers shoot down Huskies

PILLAGER--Ramsey Moe registered 28 points for the Aitkin Gobblers in a 63-31 win over the Pillager Huskies in a Section 7-2A matchup Thursday, Jan. 17.

Aitkin was ranked third in the South Subsection 7-2A standings prior to Thursday's game with the Huskies sitting seventh.

Kaija Davies contributed nine points and nine rebounds for Aitkin.

The Huskies were led by Emma Schmit's seven points

VERNDALE-Bailey Wynn poured in a game-high 21 points and Alyssa Semmler added 12 for the Pine River-Backus Tigers who defeated the Verndale Pirates 58-38 in a Section 5-1A matchup Thursday, Jan. 17.

Going into the game, the Tigers were second in the North Subsection 5-1A standings and Verndale was fifth.

Maddie Ehrmantraut paced the Pirates with 15 points and Morgan Glenz finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
