Pierz 59, Royalton 33

PIERZ — Kiara Olesch led the No. 5 seeded Pierz Pioneers with 21 points in a 59-33 win over the No. 13 Royalton Royals Friday, March 19, in the Section 6-2A quarterfinals.

Emily Dehler added 12 points for Pierz and Alissa Girtz collected 10 rebounds.

BROWERVILLE — Ramsey Tulenchik turned in a game-high 17 points for the third-seeded Pine River-Backus Tigers who edged the No. 2 seeded Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers 56-49 in the West Subsection 5-1A semifinals Friday, March 19.

Olivia Adkins added 16 and Rylie Hirschey had 15 for PR-B who will face No. 1 Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in the West Subsection 5-1A finals 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 23.

Free throws were the difference as PR-B converted 28 of 35 compared to 5-11 for BEV. Adkins was 14-of-16 from the line while Hirschey hit 7-of-8 and Tulenchik 7-of-11.
