WALKER-Shania Glenz tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds leading the No. 5 Verndale Pirates to a 54-52 upset victory over No. 4 Walker-Hackensack-Akeley in Thursday's North Subsection 5-1A quarterfinals.
Morgan Glenz added nine points and seven steals as the Pirates snapped WHA's five-game winning streak, avenged a 54-43 loss to the Wolves Jan. 24 and picked up their third straight win.

PINE RIVER-Bailey Wynn's 18 points paced the No. 3 Pine River-Backus Tigers in their 64-50 victory over the No. 6 Sebeka Trojans during the North Subsection 5-1A quarterfinals Thursday.
Shelby Adkins scored all 17 of her points during the second half and added five assists, four rebounds and three steals for the Tigers, who have won nine straight.
PR-B's Alyssa Semmler added 15 points, nine rebounds and six blocks and Gabby Rainwater led the Tigers with 15 rebounds.
