CROSBY-Jami Nelson tossed in 17 points and collected 10 rebounds for the Crosby-Ironton Rangers in a 67-48 win over the Barnum Bombers in the opening round of the Section 7-2A tournament Wednesday.
Shyanne Loiland finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and four steals for C-I and Mariah Bodle contributed 11 points off the bench.
Both teams came into the tournament with 14-12 overall records.
The Rangers went on runs of 12-0 and 15-4 to build a 37-25 lead at the intermission and were able to take advantage of Barnum's 24 turnovers and cold shooting that included just 4-for-45 (13 percent) from three-point range.
