SARTELL — Staples-Motley's Adriana Dickey and the Pequot Lakes Patriots both secured first-round leads in the Section 6-2A tournament Friday, June 4, at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club.
Dickey fired an 84 with matching 42s on her nines. He carded two birdies to lead the Cardinals to third place after round one. Teammates Ava Schneider shot 91 followed by a 102 from Mallory Uselman.
Pequot landed three girls in the top 10 with Maddie Pederson’s 86 leading the way. Morgan Krieger shot 88 and Annie Neva a 92 to fall into ninth place going into Monday’s final round. Genevieve Birkeland shot 101 leading to the Patriots’ 367, which is nine shots better than second-place Albany.
Pierz’s Emily Virnig shot 87 to find herself in fourth. Teammate Ellie Fischer is in sixth place with her 90.
