SARTELL-Olivia Klefsaas shot a 79 to grab the early lead in Monday's first round of the Section 6-2A tournament at Blackberry Golf Club.
The Staples-Motley senior needed just 34 putts to advance to Tuesday's final round.
Teammate Hailey Koenig needed just 35 putts to shoot 88 and advance.
The top four teams and top nine individuals not on those teams advance to the final round.
Pierz, led by Brittany Talberg's 109, placed eighth.

Stone second, Pequot sitting third
BEMIDJI-Alex Stone opened the Section 8-2A tournament Monday with a 77 to fall four shots off leader Kate Smith of Detroit Lakes and help Pequot Lakes to third at Bemidji Town and Country.
The Patriots are 20 shots off the lead held by Detroit Lakes. Amanda Nies fired an 86 followed by Bella Abear's 91 and Alex Nelson's 94.

Wadena-Deer Creek's Gabi Ross will be in the top group of individuals not on a team in Tuesday's final round. She opened with an 87. Her teammate Jess Rondestvedt shot 90 and McKayla Woods a 91.
