Area Girls Hockey: Blue Devils capture share of Mid-State Conference title

WADENA-Reece Ritter collected four points on a goal and three assists for the Prairie Centre Blue Devils who captured a share of the Mid-State Conference title with a 7-1 win over the Park Rapids Panthers Tuesday, Jan. 2.

The Blue Devils had lost three straight, but Tuesday's win ties them with Northern Lakes, both with 5-1 records in the final conference standings.

Kylee Hopp and Kayla Sayovitz scored two goals apiece for Prairie Centre while Allie Lemke and Shelby Otte added lone goals.

Goalie Mackenzie Och rejected 10 shots for Prairie Centre which outshot Park Rapids 50-11.

Willmar 6, Northern Lakes 4

WILLMAR-Elli Saxerud, Caitlyn Gutzman, Savannah Abear and Alyssa Koslowski netted goals for the Northern Lakes Lightning in a 6-4 loss to the Willmar Cardinals in a Section 6-1A matchup Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Kate Stephens recorded 30 saves for the Lightning who were outshot 35-20.

Northern Lakes is 9-11-1 overall and 1-5 against section opponents.
