Area Girls Hockey: Lightning shock Warriors

MENDOTA HEIGHTS — Kiana Landt’s short-handed goal with 1:02 left to play proved to be the winning goal for the Northern Lakes Lightning who defeated the Henry Sibley Warriors 3-1 Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Rose Aldridge added an insurance goal 29 seconds later.

Riley Fogarty put the Lightning up 1-0 in the second period before the Warriors Josie Daly put in the equalizer at 4:39 in the third.

Northern Lakes held a 36-19 in shots-on-goal advantage with Lightning goalie Kate Stephens making 18 saves.
