Area Girls Hockey: Lightning win over North Shore in a comeback

SILVER BAY — The Northern Lakes Lightning stormed back on the first-period goals from Hayden Boelter and Riley Fogarty to erase a two-goal deficit and they went on to defeat the North Shore Storm 5-3 Saturday, Jan 4.

Boelter’s short-handed goal on an assist from Caitlyn Gutzman cuts the Storm lead to 2-1 and Fogarty’s goal on an assist from Megan Muller tied the tame at the end of the first period.

Gutzman and Alyssa Kosloski scored in the third period to make it 4-2 Lightning and Rose Aldridge’s goal closed out the game.

The Lightning were out shot by a margin of 27-25 and Kate Stephens recorded 24 saves.
