Area Girls Hockey: Stephens registers first varsity shutout in Lightning victory

BREEZY POINT--Eighth-grader Kate Stephens tallied nine saves in net for the Northern Lakes Lightning as they defeated the Crookston Pirates 3-0 Thursday, Nov. 29.

BREEZY POINT-Eighth-grader Kate Stephens tallied nine saves in net for the Northern Lakes Lightning as they defeated the Crookston Pirates 3-0 Thursday, Nov. 29.

It was the first shutout for Stephens in her varsity career.

Caitlyn Gutzman pumped in two goals for the Lightning. Savannah Abear also scored in the non-conference game.
