Area Girls Soccer: Flyers get past Zimmerman Thunder

LITTLE FALLS — Mikayla Houdek scored both goals for the Little Falls Flyers who defeated the Zimmerman Thunder 2-1 Friday, Sept. 11, in a Granite Ridge Conference match.

The Flyers got on the board 17 minutes into the match when Kendal Swantek took a shot that the Zimmerman goalkeeper deflected directly to Houdek who tapped it in for the score.

Little Falls made it 2-0 three minutes into the second half when Houdek again found the back of the net with an assist from Kaylee Zupko.

Flyer goalie Ana Steadman collected 11 saves, nine of them coming in the second half. Zimmerman tallied its goal at the 68th minute mark.
