Area Girls Soccer: Penalty kick ends Flyers' season

BELLE PRAIRIE - A second-half goal on a penalty kick was the difference as the South Subsection 8-1A's fourth-seeded St. Cloud Apollo Eagles edged North No. 3 Little Falls 1-0 in the Section 8-1A semifinals Tuesday.

BELLE PRAIRIE - A second-half goal on a penalty kick was the difference as the South Subsection 8-1A's fourth-seeded St. Cloud Apollo Eagles edged North No. 3 Little Falls 1-0 in the Section 8-1A semifinals Tuesday.

The Flyers finished with 10 shots on goal. Lauren Thielman collected five saves in the Little Falls net.

The loss snapped the Flyers' 3-game win streak and ended their season at 12-7. Little Falls finished with the most wins in program history and advanced to the section semifinals for the first time.
