Area Girls Tennis: C-I tops Mustangs as Sablan nets 50th win

CROSBY — Bella Sablan scored her 50th career win in doubles action with Ellen Silgen in a 4-3 victory for Crosby-Ironton over Mora in a non-conference match Thursday, Sept. 24.

Ella Lewandowski was the only Ranger to break through with a win in singles as the Mustangs built a 3-1 lead.

It was a clean sweep in doubles with Emma Stokman-Teresa Goodwin and Natalja Tauzell-Isabelle Vignieri coming through with wins for the Rangers.

LITTLE FALLS — Julia Vetch’s 7-6 (2), 6-1 win in No. 2 singles started a run of six-straight match wins for Little Falls as they defeated St. John’s Prep 6-1 for their first win of the season Thursday, Sept 24.

Ashley Haggen and Claire Kimman won their singles matches to give the Flyers a 3-1 lead.

Beth Ahlin and Jenna Athman kept the streak going in Doubles No. 1 with a 6-3, 6-2 win, followed by the Flyers teams of Hailey McDuffee and Alexis Nelson and Erin McKinley and Brenna Magee who won their matches.
