SARTELL -- No. 1 seed Megan Muller, of Pequot Lakes, won the 7-1A Subsection South singles tournament Wednesday, Oct. 9, to advance to sections.

No. 3 seed Courtney Boller, of Pequot Lakes, finished third to also advance to the Section 7-1A individual tournament.

In doubles, Elli Saxerud and Alexa Fyle, of Pequot Lakes, finished second to advance to sections and Crosby-Ironton’s duo of Tori Decent and Kalina Spalj placed third to advance.

The section tournament will be played Tuesday, Oct. 15

VIRGINIA -- No. 1 seed Lydia Delich of Eveleth-Gilbert defeated No. 8 seed Kelsi Welle in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 in the 7-1A North Subsection individual singles bracket Wednesday, Oct. 9.

None of the individuals for Aitkin in singles or doubles advanced to the second round in Subsection play as the Gobblers season came to a close.
