Area Girls Tennis: Patriots defend home court over Cards

PEQUOT LAKES — The Pequot Lakes doubles teams of Morgan Lueck-Afton Crocker and Kelbee Lampi-Lexi Peterson avenged earlier losses to Staples-Motley leading the Patriots to a 7-0 Mid-State Conference victory over the Cardinals Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The two Patriot duos were defeated by their S-M opponents when Pequot defeated the Cards 5-2 Sept. 15.

The shutout was the sixth in eight matches for Pequot which is undefeated.

CROSBY— Crosby-Ironton’s Monica Stokman and Ella Lewandowski both won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles as the Rangers defeated the Aitkin Gobblers 7-0 in a non-conference match Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Ellen Silgen and Bella Sablan teamed up for a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
