Pierz — The No. 1 doubles team of Maddie Gall-Marybeth Tautges dropped just two games and its way to a 6-0, 6-2 victory to help the top-seeded Pierz Pioneers to a 7-0 victory over No. 4 Long Prairie-Grey Eagle in the Section 5-1A semifinals Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Pierz’s Alex Thielen battled back from a first-set loss, to claim a three-set victory at No. 4 singles.

NEW LONDON — The doubles team of Jenna Dvorak and Haley Cichos posted the only win for the No. 3 Staples-Motley Cardinals who were eliminated 6-1 by the No. 2 New London-Spicer Wildcats in the Section 5-1A semifinals Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Dvorak and Cichos won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
The duo of Rose Han and Georgia Kruchten battled to three sets before dropping their No. 2 doubles match.
