Area Girls Tennis: Pierz picks off Mainstreeters

SAUK CENTRE -- Mariah Kirschbaum dropped just one game on her way to a 6-1, 6-0 No. 4 singles victory of the Pierz Pioneers in a 6-1 victory Tuesday, Aug. 20, against Sauk Centre.

Pierz swept the singles matches and saw Maddie Hoheisel-Marybeth Tautges pick up a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

VIRGINIA -- Courtney Boller improved to 6-0 on the season as she finished 2-0 Tuesday, Aug. 20, as Pequot Lakes defeated Eveleth-Gilbert 6-1 and lost to Virginia 4-3.

Quinn Trottier and Carlie Chaney also improved to 6-0. Trotter won both of her doubles matches, while Chaney collected a in at No. 4 singles and No. doubles.
