Area Golf: Cragun’s announces trivia scramble winners

EAST GULL LAKE — Sara Simon, Karissa Haugen, Rachel Martin and Vindy Pulak were winners in the Trivia Scramble Night Tuesday, July 27, during Women’s Night at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

The Par 3 course winners were Kristy Jedinak, Wendy Shamp, Michelle Durant, Wendy Harris and Brenda Miller

Kayla Melby was closest to the pin on Course 3 and Cathy Stypula had the longest drive.

Thersa Proctor was closest to the pin on Course 1 with Haugen sinking the longest putt.

Brenda Moravec was closest to the pin and Haily Joyce made the longest putt on the Par 3 Course.

Madden’s Men

EAST GULL LAKE — Evan Letouneau and Rod Baakonen fired a 30.6 net score to win the 3-3-3 event Thursday, July 29, for the Madden’s men’s league.

Mike Courts and Mike Anderson finished second with a 31.8 followed by Greg Lange and Daryl Ramey’s 33.7. The father-son duo of Steve and Tyler Ogren shot 34.1 for fourth place.

The Thursday, Aug. 5 event will be a team event with one-net and one-gross score.

Whitefish Men

PEQUOT LAKES — Tom Boyce, Bill Johander and Greg Lindahl were winners in the 1-2-3 Best Net Balls of the Foursome Tuesday, July 27, in the Whitefish men’s league.

Paul Beilfuss, Ron Kitzman, Bruce Bissonette and Mike Rancour were second followed by Tim Hubbard, Mike Schafer, Bruce Ricket and Dean Brandt in third.

Johander and Ron Meyer were closest to the pin winners. Mike Finlay and Steve Holubar made the longest putts.

Whitefish Women

PEQUOT LAKES — Nancy McEnroe, Joyce Fleck, Marguerite Baker and Julie Hofstedt were winners Wednesday, July 28, for the Whitefish Women’s 18-hole league in their 3-2-1 team game.

Lori Stegink, Teresa Nelson, Rhonda Fitzhum finished second. Claudia Pilot, Paula Gulliford, Joan Kantos, Mary Smith placed third.

McEnroe, Pilot, Gulliford and Smith all tallied one birdie each with Barb Hanson and Smith recording chip-ins.

Holes-in-one

Dawn Kurr, Elk River, aced the 108-yard 14th par at The Classic at Madden’s July 29 using a gap wedge.

Linda Nelson, Shoreview, aced the 130-yard eighth hole at Pine Beach East at Madden’s using a 3-wood.

Luke Olson, Fort Pierre, S.D., aced the 132-yard eighth hole of Course 3 at Cragun’s Legacy Courses July 30 using a 9-iron.
