WAYZATA — Sam Foust of Grand View Lodge advanced through the Round of 32 at the MGA Players’ Championship Monday, June 21, at Spring Hill Golf Club in Wayzata.
Foust opened with a 5&4 victory over Ben Rasinski of Willingers Golf Club in the Round of 64 and then dispatched Tommy Brandabur of Windsong Farm 4&3 in the next round.
Andrew Israelson of The Vintage at Staples opened with a 6&5 victory over Brett Benson of Olivia Golf Club. The Former Staples-Motley Cardinal and North Dakota State University Bison then fell to Samuel Baker, who just topped his good friend Beck Erholtz by one stroke in the Class 2A State Tournament, in 19 holes in the second round.

Madden’s results
Tom Freece and Dave Bacharach shot a 7-under 60 June 17 at Madden’s Pine Beach West to win the two-man best ball net event.
Mike Hopps and Mark Waverek shot a 6-under for second followed by Dave Schultz and Mike Anderson in third with the same score.
Wayne Carner and Tom Hoppes placed fourth with a 5-under score.
The team of Greg Lange and Evan L tied with Rick Carlson and Mike Courts for fifth.
Whitefish Men
Jerry Moore was the first flight winner of the individual low net event June 14 during the Whitefish Golf Club’s men’s league.
Tom Boyce placed second and Roger Jensen was third in the first flight.

Tom Schroeder captured the second flight followed by Scott Hofstedt in second and Bill Carlson in third.
Gordon Fischer was the third-flight winner with Tom Baker in second and Jon Eide in third.
Steve Ogren and Steve Holubar were closest to the pin and Mike Carnahan and Jim Byrne made the longest putts.
Whitefish Women
Lori McCormick was the first-flight winner of the June 16 individual par 4s event during the Whitefish Golf Club women’s 18-hole league.
Barb Holubar was second, Dori Leininger third and Deb Enger fourth in the first flight.
Mimi Swanson won the second flight followed by Julie Hofstedt in second, Nancy Schmidt third and Joyce Fleck fourth.

Marguerite Baker claimed the third flight. Sherrie Adams was second. Sany Meyer finished third and Connie Weber fourth.
Leininger finished with a net 68 for the low round.
Enger carded two birdies. Joan Kantos, Wendy Markman, Weber, Helen McGrath, Swanson, Mary Smith, McCormick and Myra Faust had one birdie each.
Chip-ins were recorded by Markman, Enger, Faye Puelston, Weber, Swanson, Smith and Faust.
Cragun’s Women
Kelly Gorvin was a pin seeker June 15 during the Cragun’s Legacy Courses women’s night as she was the closest to the pin winner on Course 2. Heather Bender smashed the longest drive for Course 2.
Kristel Schaonber was closest to the pin and Stephanie Gallagher made the longest putt on Course 3.

Michelle Joyce made the longest putt on the Par 3 Course with Natalie hitting it closest to the pin.
Foust qualifies
Sam Foust of Grand View Lodge shot a 74 June 14 to tie for 12th at the Elk River Golf Club and qualify for the MGA State Amateur.
Foust finished in a five-way tie for 12th and secured the final qualifying spot
