The team of Claudia Pilot of Grand View Lodge and Brenda Williams of Windsong Farm finished second in a playoff in the MGA Women’s Senior Four-Ball Championship with a 1-over score Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Forest Hills Golf Club in Forest Lake.
After being tied with Besty Aldrich and Barb Miller, the two teams went into a playoff where the Aldric-Miller won with a par on the fourth playoff hole.
The pair shot a 1-over first round with three birdies to be in third place headed into round two.
Williams eagled the first hole in the second round and vaulted them into first. The pair finished the second round even-par with two birdies and an eagle.
In the 2nd flight of the MGA Women’s Senior Four-Ball Championship, Diane Frantz of Whitefish Golf Club and Barb Hanson Olympic Hills Golf Club in Eden Prairie finished four with a score of 28-over.

In the 5th flight, Jean Buller of Grand View Lodge and Deb Hockett of Hazeltine National in Chaska finished fourth and posted 53-over.
Pilot 3rd in Senior Amateur
Claudia Pilot shot 18-over to claim third place in the MGA Women’s Senior Amateur Championship Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata.
Pilot shot a first round of 80 to be tied for the lead headed into the second round. She shot an 82 in round two with one birdie.
Cuyuna hosts fundraising tournaments
Cuyuna Rolling Hills Ladies Golf Association held a 9-hole Rally for the Cure Tournament and a 9-hole Memorial Tournament Wednesday, Aug. 19.
The money raised benefits the Susan G. Komen organization.
Wendy Christensen won first place in the Rally for Cure ahead of Sandy Arcand in second and Joan Hasskamp in third. Hasskamp was low gross with a 37.

Cathy Wierzbicki placed first in the Memorial Tournament. Jan Hermanson notched second and Judy Franks third. Hasskamp again was low gross with a 40.
Proximity winners were Hasskamp, Franks, Shirley Huxford, Arcand, Rita Pierce, and Wierzbicki.
