Golf-A-Palooza set
The second Brainerd lakes area Golf-A-Palooza is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at Cragun's Legacy Courses.
Sponsored by Cragun's, Crosswoods Golf Course, Madden's Resort, The Pines at Grand View Lodge and Chris Foley Golf Schools, the event will offer free PGA professional instruction, junior and family golf information from area courses, exclusive junior golf club sale and swap ad more.
Those interested in selling old junior sets can drop them off at any of the sponsor locations.
Breezy Point women
The Breezy Point women's golf luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 9 at Billy's Restaurant in Breezy Point.
Anyone interested in a 9-hole league are invited to attend.

Israelson qualifies
Andrew Israelson shot a 3-under-par 69 to earn co-medalist honors and advance through US Open qualifying Monday, May 6, at StoneRidge Golf Club in Stillwater.
Israelson, a Staples-Motley High School graduate and current North Dakota State University men's player, tied with Ross Miller of Maple Grove.
Area's ranked players
The Brainerd Warriors boys team is ranked ninth in the state by the MGA's Nick Hunter and has three players ranked in the top 100.
The Warrior girls team is ranked 25th in the state.
Brainerd senior Gavin Metz is ranked 19th in the state followed by junior Cody Evans at 69 and sophomore Erik Stoxen at 81.
Staples-Motley's Beck Erholtz is ranked 50th. Junior Brady Raph of Pine River-Backus is ranked 47th.
Despite not playing because of an injury, Staples-Motley's Alix Peterson is ranked 82nd on the girls side.
Homeless and Wounded Warriors
The Homeless and Wounded Warriors fundraising golf tournament is scheduled for Noon, May 27, at Whitefish Golf Club in Pequot Lakes.
There entry fee is $75 per player and includes golf, cart and dinner. The event check in will begin at 10:30 a.m. with awards and dinner to start around 5 p.m.
