Area Golf News: Reichert Bus pulling away from field

Reichert Bus built a 14.5-point lead in the men's league standings thanks to a 30-14 victory over People's Security Thursday at Cragun's Legacy Courses.

Mike Toensing collected nine points for Reichert, which leads second-place Team Legacy after it defeated .925 Silver 24.5-19.5.

Big Wood is third after it posted the week's largest victory of 32-12 over Riverwood Bank.

Breezy Point women

Connie Colon, Sue Marsolais, Barb Owens and Janie Pommer survived the Thursday game of the day, Shipwreck, and finished first for the Breezy Point Resort women's league.

Betty Huseby, Ellen Koshenina, Sandy O'Day and Judy Thomas placed second followed by Polly Aumock, Joi Brandt, Kathy McTague and Bugs Schmidt in third.

Whitefish men

T.J. Jones was the front nine winner July 11 and Bill Johander won the back nine, but Keith Bettes captured the entire 18 of the individual Nassau of the Whitefish men's league.

Bettes won the first flight, while Jerry Moore won the second flight. Fred Swenson was the first nine winner of the second flight and Jim Rauenhorst won the back nine.

Chuck Hicks (front), Bob Jones (back) and Greg Lindahl (18) were the third flight winners.

Steve Ogren and Dick Hanson were closest to the pin. John Larson and Johander made the longest putts.

Whitefish women

Barb Hanson's net 34 captured the first flight of the July 12 Whitefish Women's 18-hole league game of 4 Score.

Patty Kline placed second and Nancy McEnroe and Marty Moakley tied for third.

Enga Wodziak won the second flight with a net 40. Katie Deeg, Pam Musielewicz, Ginger Giefer and Joan Kantos all tied for second.

Judy Eastwood shot 37 to win the third flight. Sherrie Adams placed second and Nancy Einan was third. Marguerite Baker finished fourth.

Hanson and Pat McKee each marked birdies to lead to a tie for the overall low net with 67s. McEnroe also carded a birdie. Adams and Cheryl Bontrager made chip ins.

Holes-in-one

Sue Baer, Lakeville, aced the 130-yard eighth hole of Madden's Pine Beach East Course July 18 using a driver.
