Area Golf News: Reichert hauls in a 1st-place finish

EAST GULL LAKE -- Reichert Bus topped Edward Jones 29-15 Thursday, Sept. 19, to win the men’s league championship at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

Todd Ringer’s 4-under par round led the way leading to Reichert’s second championship in the last six seasons.

Along with Ringler, Reichert was Steve Stoxen, Mike Moran, Mark Moran, Mike Toensing, Adam Kalenberg and Curt Baier Jr.

Whitefish women

PEQUOT LAKES -- Cheryl Bontrager, Debbie Enger and Pat Kline tied for first place in the first flight of the Wednesday, Sept. 18, players’s choice event in the Whitefish Golf Club Women’s 18-hole League.

Nancy McEnroe finished fourth.

Connie Weber won the second flight followed by Joie Brandt and Enga Wozniak in second and Sherrie Adams in fourth.

Weber shot the low net round of 69. Barb Holubar, Anita Stensby and Bontrager made birdies. Weber and Bontrager both knocked in chip-ins.

Holes-in-one

Mark Fuhr, East Gull Lake, aced the 127-yard second hole of The Classic at Madden’s Sept. 22 using a pitching wedge.
