Alex Stone of Crosswoods Golf Course shot rounds of 73-74 for a third-place 147 at the 72nd Minnesota State Junior Girls Championship Monday and Tuesday at Legacy Golf in Faribault.
The recent Pequot Lakes High School graduate finished four shots behind eventual winner Sophia Yoemans of Mississippi National Golf Links. Leah Herzog placed second with a 145.

Reichert Bus maintained the lead in the men's league at Cragun's Legacy Courses with a 33-11 victory over U.S. Bank July 6.
Reichert has 67 points after two weeks of the second half and leads second-place Team Legacy by nine points. Team Legacy beat NextHome Horizons 35.5-8.5.

Warrior Golf Classic
The Brainerd Warrior Hockey Golf Classic is scheduled Aug. 18 at Eagles Landing in Fort Ripley.

Swingers and Sweepers

Brainerd Lakes Curling Association will hosts its Swingers and Sweepers golf tournament fundraiser at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at Bobby's Legacy Course at Cragun's.
The 4-person scramble costs $75 per person before Aug. 15, $95 per person thereafter. Cost includes nine holes of golf with cart and buffet dinner following the event.
Golfers can sign up individually or as a foursome. Dinner only is $25.

The Rally event will begin 8:30 a.m. with the Memorial tournament starting at 10:45 a.m.
All women are invited to participate. There is a $20 tax deductible donation for the Rally event along with a special Rally rate for green fees if you are not a Cuyuna Rolling Hills member.

Heggerston ties for 18th
Maggie Heggerston of Pequot Lakes, who now plays for the University of Minnesota, tied for 18th place in the U.S. Women's Amateur Sectional Qualifying July 6 at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury.
Heggerston shot 6-over-par 41-37--78.
Sierra Kersten of Spokane, Wash., was medalist with a 70. The top three qualifiers were Sarah Burnham of Maple Grove with a 71 and Brenna Lervick of Chanhassen and Julie Houston of Allen, Texas, with 73s. First alternate is Katherine Smith of Detroit Lakes. Second alternate is Allisen Corpuz of Waipahu, Hawaii.

Jerry DeChaine, Brainerd, aced the 139-yard 15th hole on the Dutch Course at Cragun's Legacy Courses July 3 with a 9-iron.
Don Berglund, Eden Prairie, aced the 127-yard eighth hole on the Dutch Course at Cragun's Legacy Courses July 2 with an 8-iron.
