SARTELL-Zach Opatz and Sam Nagel combined for seven hits and Little Falls snapped an 8-game losing streak with a 12-3 win over the St. Cloud 76ers in a losers bracket game in the Substate 12 American Legion baseball tournament Tuesday, July 25.
Opatz finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs and Nagel 3-3 with three runs scored. Travis Wenzel was 3-5 with two runs, Sam Himley 2-4 with a run and Josh Jennings 2-5 with a run and two RBIs.
Caleb Strack pitched six innings without allowing an earned run to get the win. He allowed two hits with four walks and nine strikeouts.
Sam Nagel pitched the last inning allowing no hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
Little Falls was scheduled to play Foley at Sartell at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, in an elimination game.
