CROSBY-Mattie Kovatovich struck out five, walked one and allowed five runs, two earned,on seven hits and the Crosby-Ironton Rangers took advantage of six Pequot Lakes errors in a 15-5 Game One victory Tuesday.
The Patriots rebounded and keyed on five C-I errors for an 11-4 Game Two victory in the Mid-State Conference doubleheader.
In Game One, Casidy Duerr finished 2-3 with three RBIs, a double and two runs scored. Caitlyn Gutzman went 3-5 with two runs and Macey Roach, Emma Sanford, Mya Decent and Anable Duerr each drove in two runs.
Pequot's Claire Ganley went 2-3 with a double and a triple for Pequot. Cassandra Haman was 2-3 with a double.
Bre Sewall held the Rangers to just two hits in Game Two. She struck out five, walked two and allowed four runs, three of which were earned.

Ganley went 2-2 with two RBIs and a run, while Alex Kotaska finished 2-3 with four RBIs, two runs and a double. Kenzie Nelson went 3-3 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI.
C-I's Roach went 1-3 with a two-run home run.

Abby Poser recorded a double for the Flyers and Allie Steinmetz tallied two RBIs.
Kali Mammenga struck out 10 and scattered four hits over seven innings for the shutout victory.

Pierz splits
PAYNESVILLE-Brittney Boser tossed a no-hitter to give the Pierz Pioneers a 9-0 victory over the Paynesville Bulldogs in the second game of a Central Minnesota Conference doubleheader Tuesday.
Boser struck out three and walked one in the no-hitter. She was also the pitcher of record in the first game lasting 5.1 innings, striking out five and walking two while allowing four hits in a 2-1 loss.
Ella Kalusche was 2-3 and Laura Skiba doubled to drive in a run for the Pioneers in the first game.
Boser and Emily Daiker both went 2-3 with a pair of RBIs for Pierz in the second game and Terri Tretter finished 2-2.

Hailea Books totaled six runs, four RBIs and a triple for the Huskies, while Ella Kilchesky had two runs, three RBIs and a double.

DETROIT LAKES-McKenna MacDonald slammed a home run for the Gobblers as Aitkin fell 12-3 and 15-0 in a Mid-State Conference doubleheader to the Detroit Lakes Lakers Tuesday.
MacDonald also recorded three RBIs in Game One.
Chandra MacDonald recorded a double for the Gobblers in Game One.
