Area Softball: Pierz remains perfect

Six teams hit the diamond Thursday, April 29


PIERZ — Pierz’s Emily Sadlovsky ripped a home run for the Pioneers as they beat the Albany Huskies 5-3 in a Granite Ridge Conference game Thursday, April 29.

Sadlovsky was 2-3 with two runs while Kelsie Cummings was 2-3 with a double, an RBI and a run for the 7-0 Pioneers.

Tori Wagner pitched the victory. She allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk. She struck out six.

Sadlovsky added a save to her stat list. She didn’t allow a hit or run in one inning of relief.

Mora 14, Little Falls 4

MORA — Sammy Tembreull finished 1-3 with a triple for the Little Falls Flyers who fell to the Mora Mustangs 14-4 in a Granite Ridge Conference game Thursday, April 29.

Izzy Dukiwitz hit a double along with Kendra Couture who went 1-2 with two RBIs.

OSAKIS — Pillager’s Olivia Peterson was 2-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Huskies as they fell 5-4 to the Osakis Silverstreaks Thursday, April 29.

Pillager’s Briana Blais struck out nine and allowed five runs on 13 hits.

Tessa Danielson finished 2-3 with an RBI and Brooklyn Rudrud was 1-3 with two runs scored.

PRB wins 2

PINE RIVER — Ramsey Tulenchik finished 3-4 with a double and a triple in Game One and added another triple in Game Two as the Pine River-Backus Tigers swept the Nevis Tigers 13-2, 14-7 Thursday, April 29.

Danielle Burgoyne also hit a triple in Game One with Rylee Norman and Gracie Crimmins hitting doubles.

Jamie Johnson was the winning pitcher in the Upper Mississippi Conference opener

In Game Two, Burgoyne hit a triple while Nevaeh Middendorf and Crimmins both hit doubles.

Riley Norman pitched the win in Game Two.

Mikaley Richards recorded one strikeout in Game one.

In Game Two, Allie Olander went 1-2 and Mandy Carter had a hit.

Carissa Winscher went 2-4 with a double and Becca Stanley went 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Mariah Line finished with two RBIs for BHV.
