Annie Semmler went 2-for-4 scoring three runs and drove in two for the North No. 2-seeded Pine River-Backus Tigers in their 8-7 Section 5-1A losers bracket victory against the South No. 4 Pillager Huskies at Central Lakes College Wednesday.
PR-B's Allison Anderson was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Miah Hansen earned the win on the mound.
Pillager's Samantha Thomas went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Abby Brooks drove in two runs.
PR-B then faced the South No. 2 Isle Huskies and received hits from Semmler, Anderson, Alexus Reddick and Lindsey Tulenchik in a 7-5 win and advance to the section championship game. The Tigers will play North No. 1-seeded Sebeka at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The Tigers will have to defeat the Trojans twice to win the title.
PR-B lost to the Trojans 4-3 April 29 and 6-5 May 26 in the section tournament.
