STAPLES — Jade Story tallied two hits with a double and Brooke Converse ripped a double as the Staples-Motley Cardinals defeated the Pine River-Backus Tigers 12-11 Tuesday, May 18.
Ramsey Tulenchik went 4-5 with a double, four runs scored and six RBIs for the Tigers. Jaime Johnson also tallied two hits for PR-B.
The win was Staples-Motley’s first of the season.

PILLAGER — Olivia Peterson recorded six hits total in the Pillager Huskies Park Region Conference doubleheader sweep against the Menahga Braves 9-0 and 12-2 Tuesday, May 18.
Peterson had two doubles in Game One and one triple in Game Two.
Brooklyn Rudrud had a double in both games and totaled five RBIs for the Huskies.
Greta Hall ripped a triple in Game One with one RBI and tallied two RBIs in Game Two.
Brenna Blais got the win both games and struck out a 20 batters total over the two games.
In Game Two, Jenna Woidyla went 3-4 and Hannah Christle went 4-5 with two doubles.

Sawyer went 3-3 with two RBIs. Hailey Hudalla tallied two hits including a double and Madison Schmitz also recorded two hits with four RBIs in the loss.
