Area Track and Field: Pierz's Algarin wins 4, breaks 2 school records

PIERZ-Mathias Algarin won four events and broke two school records to help the Pierz boys place first at the Pierz Invite Friday, April 26.

Algarin broke the school record in the long and triple jumps. He also won the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Zachary Becker won the 110 hurdles. Carter Moulzolf won the 300 hurdles. Jacob Andres captured the 1600 run and Zach Traut took first in the shot put for the Pioneer boys.

Ashley Kimman placed first in the long jump and high jump for the Pioneers girls who finished second overall.

The Little Falls Flyers boys won the 4x800 and 4x400 relays and Austin Udy placed first in the high jump to lead the Flyers boys to third.

Kali Schirmers registered a victory in the 100 hurdles for the Little Falls Flyers girls who placed fourth.

Holdingford Invite

HOLDINGFORD-Bereket Loer won the 200- and 400-meter dash for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines boys as they finished in fourth-place overall at the Holdingford Invite Friday, April 26.

W-DC won the 4x800 relay, Johanna Brunsberg took first in the 800 run and Leah Spilman won the shot put as the Wolverine girls placed third.
