Area Track and Field: Rangers collect 8 firsts

Results from recent Aitkin and Crosby-Ironton track and field meets

ESKO -- Katelyn Casper won the 400-meter dash while Lily Peterson captured the 800 run and Margaret Ringhand the 3200 run for the Crosby-Ironton Rangers at the Esko Invite Friday, April 30.

The C-I girls also won the 4x400 and 4x800 relays and in field events, Hayley Jones won the pole vault with an 8-foot effort and was second in the high jump. Sydney Roberts placed second in the 100 hurdles.

On the boys' side, C-I’s Evan Miller won the 100 dash in 12.01. C-I swept the top three places in the pole vault with Nick Nierenhausen winning with a 12-0 followed by Michael Fitzpatrick in second and John Paul Fitzpatrick in third.

Jordan Mount collected two seconds in the long and triple jumps and was second in the 200 dash.

Aitkin’s Piecek, Nyberg double winners

HINCKLEY — Teagan Piecek and Raelene Nyberg each notched two wins for Aitkin at the Hinckley-Finlayson meet Thursday, April 29.

Piecek and Nyberg were both on the 4x100-meter relay team for the Gobblers that won in 55.63.

Piecek took first in the triple at 33-10 and Nyberg won the 400 dash in 1:05.21.

For the boys, Jaelend Williams notched two wins in the 400 sprint and the triple jump. Craig Visnovec won the 300 hurdles in 51.23 for Aitkin. Tyler Franke finished first in the 3200 run for the Gobblers in 12:43.57.

The boys 4x200 relay team of Mason Boyd, Joseph Buisman, Jacob Williams and Jaelend Williams won in 1:44.50
